Choir tunes up for festivegala concert

Members of Overgate Hospice Choir will be in good voice at their annual Gala Carol Concert at Halifax Minster on Saturday, December 19.

Tickets are now on sale for the concert which will feature special guests and a festive programme of Christmas music.

Taking part will be the Hammonds Saltaire Brass Band, with musical director Morgan Griffiths, and renowned cornet soloist Phillip McCann. The conductor will be Dr Simon Lindley and the organ soloist will be Alan Horsey.

Hammonds Saltaire Band will play Leory Anderson’s magical ‘Christmas Festival Overture’ and other Christmas favourites including ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’. There will be solo items by Phillip McCann and Alan Horsey and plenty of opportunity for the audience to join the choir in favourite carols including the ‘Yorkshire’ version of ‘While Shepherds Watched’.
