In December the band celebrated winning an accolade for its secret festival.

Following on from its unique series of Secret Gigs, the band curated its very own Secret Festival on September 6 in the grounds of Knebworth House.

It was nominated in five categories at the UK Festival Awards and came out on top in the Best New Festival category.

The band will also be performing at the Kendal Calling festival.

Starsailor burst onto the scene in 2001 when its single Fever earned it the title of “Britain’s best new band”.

The band was formed at Wigan and Leigh Music College by music students James Walsh (vocals/guitar), James Stelfox (bass) and Ben Byrne (drums).

The band has enjoyed more than its fair share of prestigious gigs, supporting the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Killers, and U2, and has sold more than three million albums worldwide.

It decided to take a break in 2009 to explore other projects and chose 2014 as the right time to come back and hit the music scene once more.
