Curtain up for next generation film makers

Actress Natalie Gavin and a host of industry experts will speak at the inaugural I.MAKE.FILM festival showing the work of talented young film makers from Calderdale and West Yorkshire on Sunday, June 19 at Orangebox Young People's Centre, Halifax (From 12 noon).

The event offers great networking and showcasing opportunities and gives budding film makers a unique opportunity to meet leading figures in Northern cinema.

The festival has been overwhelmed by high-quality submissions from film-makers aged 12 to 24 across West Yorkshire, ranging from drama to music videos to documentaries.

Other speakers include the Hebden Bridge based Rouge Robots, John Coombes, video lecturer at Kirklees College and James Varley, leader of Orangebox young film-makers’ course, Only Academy. Doors open midday, films entries shown between 1pm and 5pm.

“We’ve been bowled over by the strength of support and enthusiasm from both young and established film-makers across the region,” said organiser Kate Rattray.

Admission is £3 on the door.
