Channel 4 drama Ackley Bridge has postponed filming for the new series amid the situation with Covid-19.

The news comes in the same week that BBC dramas Line of Duty and Peaky Blinders announced that filming would stop until further notice.

Northern Talent and Expressions Drama put out a statement which reads: "Ackley Bridge has been stood down with immediate effect. We have been told to expect a minimum of a two month hiatus, but promised the series will be back."

The series was due to return to our screens in September for ten half hour episodes.

It is unknown when the series will return.

Filming for the show is based at the former St Catherine's Catholic High School in Holmfield and have used many locations across Calderdale over its three series.
