Where was Wuthering Heights filmed? Valentine's Day dance on moor to celebrate Wuthering Heights release

Moorland supporters are set to gather on Valentine’s Day to celebrate Emerald Fennel’s upcoming adaptation of the Emily Brontë novel Wuthering Heights.

Bridestones Rewilded – a community-owned nature reserve who took ownership of 70 football pitches (114-acres) of moorland late last year – are planning a mass ‘wuther’ on Valentine’s Day.

They hope to raise awareness of the importance of peat moors to the environment.

A ‘wuther’ is a coordinated group dance to Kate Bush’s 1978 song, Wuthering Heights, inspired by Emily Brontë’s tale of love, revenge and wild West Yorkshire countryside.

The conservation group’s directors will be joined by over 50 supporters donning red dresses and dancing to Kate Bush’s iconic song.

Bridestones Moor closely resembles the rugged landscape surrounding Emily Brontë’s hometown of Haworth.

So closely that a key scene from the Wuthering Heights film, featuring superstars Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie, was filmed on Bridestones Moor last year.

Cath Baker, one of Bridestones Rewilded’s six Directors, said: “We’re heading up to the moors on Valentines Day to promote love.

"But it’s not your typical tale of romance.

"We want everyone to know how much we love bogs! Specifically, peat bogs.

"They’re so important for the environment. It’s going to be wet. It’s going to be windy. But if it teaches people to love peat moorland then it’ll be worth it!”

Amy Shephard, another Bridestones Rewilded Director, added: “We want to take this opportunity to thank all our supporters – in particular, Julia Davis from We Have The Power.

"None of this would be possible without the money we raised through donations and charitable loans to purchase Bridestones Moor in the first place.”
