Film spotlight on Halifax

Halifax Film Society often screens the best of world cinema - but it moves closer to home on Sunday, November 8 when it presents ‘Halifax, Past, Present and Future’ by Calderdale production company Pathways Productions.

The film captures the rich history of Halifax from medieval times to the present day. Opening at Halifax Minster, the film also looks at the Piece Hall, Square Chapel, Halifax Borough Market, Shibden Park, family businesses and local pubs.

Presenter Ray Riches said: “The film is enhanced with some excellent interviews and plenty of old photos which, we hope, will make people look at Halifax with fresh eyes.” ‘Halifax, Past, Present and Future’ will be shown at the Playhouse, King Cross Street, at 7.30pm.Tickets at £4.50/£3.50 are available on the door or from 01422 355990.
