Fright night film special

Prepare to be afraid - very afraid - when Hebden Bridge Picture House hosts a special Halloween film night featuring five of the scariest movies ever made.

The deadly line-up on Saturday, October 31 includes ‘The Evil Dead’, ‘Santa Sangra’, ‘The Shining’, ‘Living Dead at Manchester Morgue’ and, in tribute to the late Sir Christopher Lee, the classic horror ‘The Whicker Man’.

The screenings start at 2pm and are expected to end after midnight. Tickets are £13 and it’s an over-18s only event.

The Halloween Film Festival has been curated by actor and director Dominic Brunt to launch the start of Surreal Reels, a new monthly series of transgressive films which will include David Cronenberg’s ‘Dead Ringers’, Nic Roeg’s terrifying ‘Don’t Look Now’ and the cult classic ‘The Tingler’.
