Hebden Bridge set for marching band contest

Top musicians from near and far are arriving for the sixth annual Hebden Bridge marching band contest, which will take place in the town this afternoon.

Organised by Hebden Bridge Brass Band, it will see numerous bands march along Bridge Gate and form up in St George’s Square to play a march and a hymn tune before the adjudicator.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of various categories.

The event forms part of the sixth annual Hebden Bridge Heritage Weekend and is expected to attract hundreds of visitors to the town.

It is scheduled to begin at 1pm.
