Killing time at Orangebox

They may be 47 Minutes Late but this band of Calderdale rockers - Gus Turner, Callum Anderson and Sam Homes - plan to be bang on time when they take the stage at the Orangebox young people’s centre in Halifax to launch their second album Killing Time.

And it looks like being A cracking affair in front of a big audience as more than 200 people have already signed up to go via their Facebook page.

The boys who are aged 17 and 18 have been together for four years and have built up a good local following.

They recently secured a grant from Calderdale council which they say will help cover the cost of room hire and staff for the event.

They also plan to sell t-shirts alongside the new album which again will off-set the cost of recording the album and a recent music video they produced.

The band decided to let their fans vote on which other local band to play with them at the event.

And after a few weeks of intense competition Minus 8 came out on top. They will be joining the gig along with As Sirens Fall.

lAnother up and coming local band New Terminal Boy continue a busy period when they play the Jack’s House pub in Todmorden on November 21.

They are made up of Giuseppe Perniola(guitarist/main songwriter), Neil Williams (vocals) who are both from Leeds and former Todmorden High student, bassist Jamie Crampton (21).

The band has been featured on several internet radio stations including Yorkshire Music Collective which thought the single Mother of All Bombs was a “great song”.

The band go on to play the 360 Club in Leeds on December 4 and next year intend to put in more studio time.
