Poppy power hit to to boost charity

Brighouse singer songwriter Roger Davies is preparing for a special concert at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax.

The event on Thursday, September 25, will see the bard of Brighouse perform some of his classics as well as his new Poppy Appeal fundraising single “Wear your Poppy with Pride”.

“It’s a venue I always look forward to playing and tickets are available now from the box office,” said Roger. “All proceeds from sales of the new single at this concert will be donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.”

The charity single is out now and available to download from iTunes.

The single was written last November after Roger was invited to write a song for the pupils of Shelley First School, Huddersfield, to sing at their school’s Service of Remembrance.

“The song has been extremely well received at my concerts since then, so releasing it as a fundraising CD single is one way of making a positive contribution through my music, and I’m proud to be supporting the Poppy Appeal,” added Roger.

Tickets for the concert are available on 01422 351158.
