Rare UK date for US star

This is a rare UK show for Texas country musician Josh T. Pearson, whose stunning 2011 masterwork ‘Last Of The Country Gentlemen’ was ranked as one of Uncut Magazines 50 Greatest Singer-Songwriter albums of all time and made almost every notable end of year list that year. Pearson comes to the Trades Club on Friday night after a hectic schedule from September onwards which began in California and has taken him across Europe.

In fact it is the first time he’s played in Britain since he took part in “A Room for London - Sounds from a Room” art project, in which leading artists of all disciplines used a one-bedroom, Joseph Conrad’s book Heart of Darkness-influenced, architectural installation at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre in London. Described by Guy Garvey of Elbow as “the greatest male vocalist of our time”.
