Silents expert at the Rex
An expert on the music of silent movies takes the console at the Rex Cinema, Elland (July 19 at 2.30pm)
In 2005, Michael Holmes, from Stalybridge was invited to the “Sounds of the Silents” film festival at the Lafayette Theatre, Suffern, New York and while there also played as part of the “Fatty in Fort Lee” Fatty Arbuckle season.for the Fort Lee Film Commission.
Michael’s job as director for two theatre companies sees him playing for pantomime, music hall and a touring variety show “The Flanagan and Allen Story”.

Hide AdHe is also a church musician in the Hyde, Greater Manchester area.
Tea and biscuits will be served in the interval and there will also be a short
film novelty to complete the programme.
