Comedian Shappi has the last laugh

Halifax has been chuckling all week as audiences have enjoyed the town’s first Comedy Festival.

With almost 50 events across 14 venues, the festival has brought the cream of the UK’s comedy talent to town.

The festival will come to an end on Saturday, October 31 with a Comedy Extravaganza featuring a line-up of three top comedians.

Seann Walsh, Shappi Khorsandi and Andy Robinson will bring the curtain down on 10 rib-tickling days of comedy.

Seann Walsh is a charismatic motor-mouth whose self-deprecating silliness and keen insights led to the Guardian decribing him as ‘the best observational comic of his generation’. His credits include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and BBC2’s Mock the Week.

Daughter of an exiled writer and comic from Iran, Shappi Khorsandi’s feisty, effortlessly funny style is mixed with a razor sharp wit.

With more than 2,000 gigs to his name, Andy Robinson has supported comedians such as Jo Brand and Sean Lock and written for Virgin Radio’s breakfast show.
