Friendship, memories... and comedy genius

‘Hi-de-Hi’ actor Jeffrey Holland brings his one-man show about the comedy double act Laurel and Hardy to Square Chapel arts centre, Halifax, on Saturday, October 17.

The show received its critically-acclaimed premiere at the Edinburgh Festival last year and is now on a UK tour.

Jeffrey Holland has been a Laurel and Hardy fan since he was a child and has built up a wealth of knowledge about the c0medy duo.

The show is set in the bedroom of a sick Oliver Hardy when Stan Laurel pays a visit to his dying friend. As they recall their memories and recount their past success, the show tells a story of friendship and the incredible fame achieved by one of cinema’s great partnerships.

Jeffrey Holland has acted in ‘Dixon of Dock Green’, ‘Are You Being Served?’ and ‘It Ain’t Half Hot, Mum’. His breakthrough role was as Spike Dixon in ‘Hi-de-Hi’.
