Stage Door opens into magical Narnia

Aslan and the Pevensie children are brought to life on the stage at Halifax Playhouse in Stage Door Studio Theatre Workshop’s musical version of the CS Lewis classic children’s story The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

The children’s voluntary group brings together youngsters from five to 17 and its version of this timeless classic - which features a score of lyrical songs, perfect for all the family - goes out from Thursday, October 15 until Saturday, October 17 this year. Performance times are at 7.15pm with a Matinee on Saturday at 2.15pm.

It is presented by Anne Redfern and Janet Fletcher.

The story begins when the Pevensie children – Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy - are sent to live in the country with the eccentric Professor Kirke during World War II.

The children explore the house on a rainy day and Lucy, the youngest, finds an enormous wardrobe. Lucy steps inside and finds herself in a strange, snowy wood and then encounters the Faun Tumnus, who tells her that she has entered Narnia, a different world, but later bursts into tears and confesses that he is a servant of the evil White Witch.
