Studio Group at the double

The Studio Group presents a double bill of short plays by special request - following the presentation of an extract from David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago recently.

Running from March 15 to 19 at the Workshop Theatre, this promises to be an hilarious evening of two brilliant one-act plays, which are both timeless and as absorbing as ever.

Sexual Perversity in Chicago is a quick-fire, witty and extremely funny play about the continuing battle of the sexes.

Set in the 70s, the dialogue is sharp, truthful and at times shocking and explicit. Bernie (Paul Varnham), a rabid misogynist who regards women as meat tells the tall sexual tales of a man whose luck is rarely in.

He is joined by Luke Garbutt as Danny, who recently returned to the Studio Group. Tara Lassey is Joan and Jade Moody is Deborah. It’s fun, if sometimes painful.

The play is coupled with Harold Pinter’s The Dumb Waiter.

The play recently enjoyed huge success in the West-End.

This is a funny, unpredictable, sinister, black comedy of menace, with dialogue that manages to turn ordinary, everyday language into something that makes one want to burst into uncontrollable convulsions.

Lee Whitton and Harry Myers, take on the challenging roles of Ben and Gus.

Sexual Perversity in Chicago and The Dumb Waiter sare directed by Lottie Ward.
