Who would you want at the table?

Neil Hurst – Buttons: “I am a big fan of Jim Carrey and he’d get everyone laughing; Hulk Hogan too due to the fact I am a big old school wrestling fan; I’d have Batman in case anyone tried to steal the Christmas pudding! And George Lucas so I could convince him to get me a part in the next Star Wars movie!”

Steve Fortune – Kim: “I would like to invite Charles Dickens, because he understood the season and would be a marvellous storyteller to have at the table. Then I would also like to have Joseph Grimaldi one of the first real pantomime dames and a fascinating character who, during his most prolific period, was doing two separate shows at different venues in London.”

Tim Churchill – Kourtney

“I would have to invite Queen Elizabeth I (first great feminist and a very interesting time in history); J Edgar Hoover could tell us all about JFK; Billy Connolly to tell the jokes and to just tell us straight how it is and my girlfriend Catherine as we never normally see each other for Christmas dinner.”

Daniel Coll – Baron Hardup: “Humpty Dumpty as he would be a very jolly fellow to have around and because after everyone has eaten too much hopefully he would devour the rest.

I would also invite a homeless person. No explanation needed here. Look after each other. Is that not what it is all about? Finally I would invite Father Christmas because after all that hard work he will need a good rest and feed.”

Katherine Lunney - Dandini: “My granddad Bill - he sadly died when I was only two years old. It would be nice to have a Christmas with him and get to know him as an adult. My second choice would be Roald Dahl – I am a massive Roald Dahl fan and find him an inspiring and entertaining writer. His autobiographies are fantastic and I reckon he would have some great dinner party stories to share. Thirdly, Cush Jumbo, a talented actress, down-to-earth, funny and genuine. Plus, based on her one woman show, she could entertain us singing Josephine Baker after dinner. And finally Robert Downey Jr – charismatic and handsome, my dinner date for the evening. Undoubtedly able to regale a tale or two from his ups and downs in Hollywood. Plus he has a gorgeous singing voice and could duet with Cush after dinner.”
