A Northern Rail spokesperson said: “There have been problems during the final stages of the signalling work on the new ‘Todmorden Curve’ and the line closures over the bank holiday weekend will mean the work can be completed.

“On the Leeds – Manchester Victoria and York – Blackpool North routes there will be a change to the normal timetable with buses running regularly between Hebden Bridge – Rochdale and Hebden Bridge – Burnley Manchester Road.

“Once we have a finalised timetable we’ll add a link to it here.

“We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this will cause and we’re working hard with Network Rail to minimise any disruption. Please check National Rail Enquiries for the latest information before you travel.”
