Ordinarily, Lattitude7 would deliver training in a face-to-face setting but, as this is not now possible, the company founder, Martin Haigh said: “Given the understandable social distancing challenges, we are now offering to support people by providing on-line resources, many of which are free-of-charge.”

There are three strands to the offer:

Firstly, recognising the value of exercise during these times, the company is promoting three publications:

‘Start Line’ (a book to help people to start running – even though we are not allowed to run too far at present), ‘Cycle for Work’ (an illustrated account of Martin’s Land’s End to John o’ Groats ride – the book includes hints and tips about how to prepare a bicycle, how to ride safely and how to remain ultra visible during short rides on the local roads), and ‘Have Fun with Fitness’ (a fully illustrated book to help children and their parents to be more aware of the physical and mental benefits of exercise, particularly during lock-down).

‘Start Line’ and ‘Have Fun with Fitness’ are available from Amazon and Waterstones and ‘Cycle for Work’ is not on the internet at the moment but Martin is offering to provide the e-version of this book free of charge.

Whilst the book is free, Martin would like recipients to make a small donation to Brighouse charity ‘Focus4Hope’. This charity is helping elderly, isolated and vulnerable people with food parcels during the crisis. To donate, visit www.focus4hope.co.uk.

Secondly, Martin Haigh recently produced a book entitled ‘Get Ready for Work’ which is designed to help people prepare for the world of work.

Aimed at students in years 11 to 13 the book is also of value to anyone who is, or might be, without employment due to the current crisis.

The interactive book covers skills such as employer research, CV writing and interview techniques but it also focuses on the important aspects of attitude, confidence and resilience when preparing for and securing employment. Moreover, Martin is now offering to guide readers through the book by launching a free on-line training programme.

The programme will be provided in five, 45 minute sessions, using a common internet platform, to help people get to grips with the skills required to secure a job after Covid-19. A free resource pack to accompany the book is also available on the lattitude7 website.

A further initiative provided by Martin is the offer of on-line training to SMEs (small to medium enterprises) in the Leeds City Region. Earlier this year Lattitude7 won a contract to provide training in leadership, teamwork, import/export, HR principles etc to SMEs in the local area – including Calderdale.

As face-to-face delivery now cannot take place, Martin is offering these training programmes on-line to qualifying SMEs.

In order to spread the message about these fantastic initiatives, Martin has created a series of awareness videos, showing contact details and resource access links. These videos are on Martin’s website by going to www.lattitude7.co.uk and clicking the Youtube icon on the home page.

If you are interested in any of the above offerings then please feel free to contact Martin Haigh by e-mail at [email protected] or by visiting the contacts page on the website.
