Bus route changes to be rolled-out

Changes to bus services across Calderdale will see services withdrawn, replaced and new services added.

The changes will come into force on Saturday, January 24, and are part of a wider bus review across West Yorkshire.

New circular services 561 and 562 will replace journeys on withdrawn services 531, 557 and 559 between Halifax, Copley, Ripponden and Greetland. New service 575 will replace journeys on withdrawn services 36 and 507 between Halifax and Claremount.

New service 511 will replace journeys between Halifax, Pellon and Rye Lane on withdrawn service 36 and will also replace evening journeys on service 535.

New service 514, combined with revised service 513, will replace journeys between Halifax, Pellon, Mixenden and Wainstalls on service 554.

New service 800 will run hourly, Monday to Saturday daytimes, between Halifax and Queensbury.

Service 532 will partly replace withdrawn service 832, and will also serve Gibbet Lane. Savile Road will be served by revised service 546.

Service 528 is withdrawn and replaced by service X58.

Service 577 will no longer serve Shield Hall Lane.

Service 539 will be revised to run between Halifax and Stainland only.

Service 540 will replace service 28A to Highroad Well.

Sowerby Bridge Ring & Ride (service 586) will now also serve Dean Head and service 505 will be withdrawn.

James Lewis at West Yorkshire Combined Authority, said: “This Government has reduced funding by hundreds of millions of pounds, which in turn means the Combined Authority has less to spend on bus services.”
