As well as training and educating young people, Mr Jagger has been involved in a raft of local, community-based charitable causes and projects.

Mr Jagger, 70, said: “I am humbled at the news that Her Majesty the Queen has appointed me an OBE.

“I have always felt passionate about the training and education of young people, having encountered difficulties in achieving my personal goals after leaving school with the systems available to me at the time.

“The honour bestowed on me reflects all the hard work and efforts of my trustee colleagues, management, staff and other stakeholders involved in training apprentices at KITS.”
