Commuters face an evening of congestion

Motorists are facing longer than expected drives home this evening with congestion throughout the district.

There is slow traffic on A58 Halifax Road in both directions in Hipperholme at the A644 Brighouse Road junction.

There are also delays on the A629 Huddersfield Road outbound in Halifax between the A646 Dryclough Lane junction and the A6026 Wakefield Road junction.

On the A629 Cow Green in Halifax traffic is busy but moving in both directions at the Bull Green junction.

There is also traffic congestion on the A644 Wakefield Road eastbound between Brighouse and the A62 Cooper Bridge Road junction.

There are no reported problems on the trains and buses.

Weather wise, the skies will remain clear up until around 11pm tonight when there will be heavy downpours going in to Thursday morning. There will be lows of 7C and highs of 10C.
