As the town continues to recover from the pandemic, Brighouse BID is keen to ensure more representatives are on the ground, developing relationships with local businesses and working together to deliver a successful recovery plan.

The first appointment sees Richard Brown join the team as BID Ambassador. Richard, a Brighouse resident, will be the face of the BID in the town centre, personally visiting all levy payers at a safe distance.

His role will be to look at ways the BID can offer increased support to businesses and ensure that Brighouse is achieving its ambition of creating a lively and welcoming town where businesses, shoppers and visitors feel safe and secure.

With a strong customer service background, Richard is well placed to bring his skills to the Brighouse BID. He said: “I’m incredibly passionate about Brighouse as a town. The wide range of local businesses we have here demonstrates what variety Brighouse has to offer visitors.

"There’s such a warm and welcoming feeling whether you live here or just visit for the day. By working more closely with our local partners we can tell our story far and wide, bringing more people into our community. I look forward to meeting all business owners in the coming weeks.”

Joining Richard at BID is Tracey Broadbent from Overgate Hospice and Rachel Dilley from Town Hall Dental, both of whom have been appointed as directors to the BID steering group bringing with them a wealth of experience in the local community.

Further changes within the BID team also see Michelle Veasey and Lauren Barber move on, embracing new challenges ahead.

BID would like to thank both Michelle and Lauren for all their marketing efforts so far and wish them both well for the future.

Plans are in place to develop a strong marketing campaign for Brighouse in the last quarter of the year and into 2021 to ensure Brighouse is seen as a destination town, attracting visitors locally and further afield to our thriving community.

"While some small towns are suffering, Brighouse is booming. Our role is to help businesses adapt, become economically stronger and drive footfall for the benefit of all.”
