Couple from Brighouse celebrate award win for B&B

A couple from Brighouse are celebrating after their Bed and Breakfast in Blackpool was announced as a Travel & Hospitality Award Winner for 2021.

David and Gill Priestley, formerly of Hove Edge, run Hornby Villa 4*B&B.

The couple bought the business back in 2007 and over the years they have updated the rooms, resulting in a 4* Award from the Visit England tourist board.

David and Gill said: “We really enjoy hosting guests in our home.

“It just comes naturally to us both and have been very frustrated this last year by being closed and not being able to accommodate people, especially the many, many repeat guests we see year after year who have become friends rather than just guests.

“In 2020 with the coronavirus pandemic we were only open for about 15 weeks but we still managed to get enough good reviews to be awarded a TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award for 2020.”

Recipients of Travel & Hospitality awards in 2021 were selected by a panel of experts who analyse submission material, review customer feedback and compare the facilities of each entrant.

Winners are those who can demonstrate their uniqueness, quality of services and facilities and exceptional levels of customer care across a number of categories.
