The initial opening hours will be 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

A maximum of 500 people will be allowed in the building at any one time.

A spokesperson for the Piece Hall Trust said: "We have been putting in place plans for a phased re-opening of the building in ways that will keep our tenants, staff and visitors safe.

"As part of our risk assessments each of our tenants will also be providing sanitizer stations for customers’ use. Additional cleaning will be taking place throughout the day.

Some businesses, events and activities will take longer to reopen or to be rescheduled. We will continue to monitor government guidelines to ensure all activities can return safely when the time is right.

When we re-open, it will be a different, socially distanced experience but with the same warm welcome that everyone has come to expect from a visit to The Piece Hall. We’re looking forward to having you back.

Throughout the phased re-opening period, entry will be through North Gate (Woolshops) and exit will be from West Gate (Westgate Arcade).

Sanitizer stations will be introduced at the entrances of The Piece Hall and throughout the courtyard.
