Cool trucks stay safe with on-site MOTs

Boroughbridge company Reed Boardall Group will be able to put its 180-strong fleet of cool-storage and distribution lorries through their MOTs on site, after a tie-up with a local Volvo partner.

Boroughbridge Motors, which is a Reed Boardall subsidiary, has teamed up with Crossroads Truck and Bus Ltd to create an on site Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) able to provide MOT testing.

“As we work with the leading names in the food industry, we’re constantly looking for ways of improving our service to customers, whether it’s by investing in the latest vehicles or by streamlining our systems and processes,” said Howard Gill, managing director of Reed Boardall Transport.

“With almost 200 vehicles in our fleet, it made sense to work with Volvo to invest in a dedicated ATF lane located here at our Boroughbridge site following the closure of the Wetherby testing facility.

“Working with Crossroads, we’re finding that this new system is providing a number of benefits in terms of convenience, speed and efficiency.”

Reed Boardall’s site at Boroughbridge is the largest of its kind in Europe.
