Dance school takes another step forward

An award-winning cheerleading school is giving youngsters the chance to put their best feet forward by offering classes in Brighouse.

The Panache Cheerschool is owned and run by Robyn Morrison and former rugby league player Glenn Morrison and is the most successful cheerleading school in the north of England.

The company supplies cheerleaders for Super League and Championship rugby league games and are currently national and European cheerleading champions.

More than 400 students between the ages of five and 24-years-old take part in their classes every week, while the company coaches in more than 20 schools in Yorkshire and performs at numerous charity and corporate events and galas throughout the country.

Classes include street dance, cheer fit, stunt cheer and personal training and sessions will now be held at Baliffe Bridge Community Centre.

Robyn, who has a degree in Dance Education and has been coaching cheerleading and dance for more than 20 years in the UK and Australia, said: “We are very proud of what we have achieved in Yorkshire and we will continue to grow on this success.

“We want to promote cheerleading and hopefully get more girls active and into our sport.

“One of our students, who lives in Lightcliffe, has just won the national cheerleading solo division for her age.

“She is also the international solo cheerleading champion and is undefeated nationally for four years.

“She has just won a an exclusive sports scholarship to Hipperholme Grammer School for September from this huge success.”
