Energy firm named National Fuel Poverty Campaigner of the Year

Halifax firm, YES Energy Solutions, has won a National Energy Efficiency Award.

The community interest company, based in Holywell Green, was named ‘National Fuel Poverty Campaigner of the Year’ at the energy saving industry’s largest awards ceremony.

YES Energy Solutions was praised for its work in helping vulnerable people reduce their fuel bills and keep warm for less.

The company also came second place in the ‘National Funding Provider of the Year’ category and third for the ‘Project Management Company of the Year’ award.

The National Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards is an annual event attended by hundreds of green organisations, installers and local authorities.

Chief executive of YES Energy Solutions, Andrew Herbert, said: “It’s fantastic to be recognised at a national level for our work in reducing fuel poverty.

“This year we’ve helped some of the most vulnerable householders in the country access support so that they can live in homes that they can now afford to heat.”
