Jill Watkins-Wright, owner of Watkins Wright Hairdressing, which has salons in five towns including Knaresborough and Boroughbridge, has been named as a finalist in both the AIPP Awards (Association Internationale Presse Professionnelle Coiffure) and the British Hairdressing Awards (BHA).

Jill was nominated from hundreds of hairdressers from 36 countries for the AIPP Awards and it is the fourth time she has made it to the BHA finals.

“I’m so excited to have made it again in the BHA, and I was absolutely stunned to hear I’d made it through to the international finals. The more I try and the closer I get, the more I want this,” said Jill, who has just opened her fifth salon.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be considered among the best in the industry, I just hope my name is called out on either of the nights!”

Since 1988, Jill and her husband, Paul, have grown the business to exceed £1m in turnover and employ 40 staff.

The competiton results will be announced this month and in November.
