Its commitment to the Tech talent Charter means the company will develop and adopt recruitment, promotion and retention plans for tech roles that drive inclusion and diversity.

Best practice, experiences and data will be shared with other signatories and wider audiences to promote the tech opportunities available to those in under-represented groups.

Graeme Howard, CTIO, at Covéa Insurance, said: “To have a culture which is truly innovative and collectively creative takes diversity of thought and experience. We can only achieve that through being a fully inclusive employer, one which really advocates for progressive thinking.

"This is an opportunity for us to make a real difference through collaboration with other organisations to dispel stereotypes and showcase tech as a viable and exciting career choice for anyone with the interest and aptitude.”

Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport - Nicky Morgan, Baroness Morgan of Cotes, said: “The Charter is a fantastic initiative which is working hard to promote diversity in the tech workforce, and I am proud that my department has given it our backing.

"Thank you to all of you who have signed up, and those of you who haven’t, please make it one of your New Year’s Resolutions to get signing.

"Greater diversity is all about making sure the incredible benefits of technology are spread more widely and more fairly and that is what I wanted to talk about today."
