Halifax restaurant thanked by Calderdale's NHS Trust in emotional letter

A team from a popular restaurant have been praised by the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) and NHS Charity.

In a bid to raise cash for the NHS, Cafe Thai Restaurant & Tapas, on Stainland Rd, Greetland, raised £500 from a raffle giving away a meal for four.

As a thank you for the eatery's efforts, the venue was written a thank you letter and visited by senior consultant Dr Graham Walsh, who presented the staff after the support provided to help fund the NHS's fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19).

The letter said: "On behalf of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity, I wish to express my sincere appreciation and thanks for your extraordinary generosity and incredible donation of £500 raised through your raffle and given to help support our NHS staff during these challenging times.

"We have been so very touched by the kindness and generosity of our communities and feel so incredibly grateful knowing that Café Thai were there for us when we needed the support of our communities most.

"Because of you and our communities, patients have been able to stay connected with their loved ones, additional health and well-being support has been made available for our amazing frontline NHS workforce, and we have made sure that the all-important additional extras have been provided, for patients, their loved ones and staff whenever and wherever.

"At CHFT we believe in ‘one culture of care’ where we look after our patients, their families and each other with the same level of outstanding care.

"We couldn’t do what we do, without you.

The restaurant is also offering 20% off for all NHS staff.
