Hundreds attend launch of Halifax's first mobile gin bar

The first mobile gin bar in Halifax was launched at Dean Clough and welcomed more than 170 people to sample its wares.

Helen Verity, GinTopia director, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended our events on Saturday. We had over 170 guests to our sessions.

“We had an amazing array of gins for guests to try, with over 35 gins on offer and a selection of Fever Tree tonics. There were some distinct favourites with our guests, from our very own locally sourced Yorkshire Distillers: pHure, Leeds Gin and Angel Divine, and from further afield, the Gin Mare from Barcelona, and the Cruxland Gin from South Africa.

“I would also like to thank the Hebden Bridge jazzy pop duo , Naomi Gill, Leeds Gin, pHure Liquors, Speakeasy Gin and Little Red Pizza who all helped to create a wonderful ambience and kept the guests fed and entertained throughout the day and evening.”

GinTopia was established by Halifax residents Helen, Carol Watkinson and Angela Nenna-Chapman.

It is housed in an Ifor Williams horse box, which has been transformed into a unique box full of gin and tonics, and and will be at Southowram Community Centre for the Tour De Yorkshire on Sunday April 30.
