Local opticians wear dots to raise lots

Staff at Halifax Specsavers have raised £140 for the Royal National Institute of Blind People by participating in their '˜Wear dots, raise lots' event.

The team at the opticians in Woolshops Shopping Centre all donned spotty outfits in a bid to highlight awareness of the importance of braille and raise much-needed funds for the sight loss charity.

They also sold raffle tickets, giving customers the chance to win a gift hamper in exchange for donations to the worthy cause.

Assistant store manager Sharron Manning said: “We were delighted to help raise awareness of braille and raise funds for this worthy cause, and I’d like to say thank you to everyone who donated or bought a raffle ticket. The Halifax community was incredibly generous.”
