The £10m business – including its HQ, warehouse and distribution facility – has relocated from Nun Monkton near York and will now be based at Rabbit Hill Business Park, which has been developed by owners Richard and Rachel Kay at a cost of more than £3m.

The site will also have a number of offices and meeting rooms for hire, as well as a café and country store, stocking rural and farming supplies, due to open in spring 2016.

Chairman Richard Kay said: “Over two years in the planning and we’re in! It’s a great personal achievement for Rachel and me and we’re delighted with the finished result. It’s a big site with a number of buildings but they have been completed sympathetically and fit in well with the local landscape.”

Rabbit Hill Business Park, just off the A1 between junctions 47 and 48, was designed by Lawrence Hannah Architects with Carter Jonas Planning Consultants, and built by Sutcliffe Construction. Knaresborough landscape architects Smeedon Foreman also worked to integrate Green-tech’s ecological and biodiversity goals into the design.
