New Calderdale country and western bar and boutique hoping to open before Christmas

A new country and western bar and boutique is hoping to open its doors in Calderdale before Christmas.

As reported by the Courier, The Broken Barrel will be at 1 Owler Ings Road in Brighouse town centre, and will pay homage to the popular genre.

Work is currently underway to refurbish the premises and, and according to the new venture’s social media, they are keen to open before December 25.

A planning application has been submitted to Calderdale Council for a change of use of the address - from retail to bar and boutique - and to replace existing windows with bi-fold doors.

A supporting statement submitted with the application says: “The proposed works are minor in nature and will not involve any significant alterations to the existing building, either internally or externally.

"The overall character and appearance of the property will be retained.

"The front elevation will remain substantially unchanged, with the proposed bi-fold doors designed to complement the existing shop frontage and the character of other similar commercial premises within the surrounding area.”

According to the bar and boutique’s social media, visitors can expect the bar on the ground floor which will include a stage where live acts will perform.

Upstairs will be the boutique, including a dressing room and featuring brands such as Wrangler, Stetson, Yeti and some UK independent western brands.
