Travel and lifestyle brand, Girl About, and its Girl About West Yorkshire, Emma Banks, launched the group to help parents and kids in Halifax, and across the UK, over the coming months.

‘Happy Hour at Home’ offers a daily kids’ activity, and gives parents some time back to do what they need to.

Youngsters are encouraged to take part, with prizes for the best efforts shared

.Emma, who is from Halifax, regularly shares reviews, recommendations and suggestions for parents, families and friends to enjoy, within her role as Girl About West Yorkshire.

The company’s ethos is to encourage people to ‘make amazing memories’, by finding unusual places to visit and things to do which are ‘off the beaten track’. This ethos is now focused in the home, using the powerful tool of imagination.

Founder, Lyndsey Thomas, said: “We’re all feeling anxious at the unknown challenges of the next few weeks, and wanted to do something to help other parents in the same position. Over the past four years, Girl About has become this incredible network of women across the UK, and this is our chance to use our collective power to help other mums and dads.

“We’ve created a group where parents can come for inspiration, and can share ideas and talk to other housebound families. We aim to keep the kids curious with fun things to do, and keep parents sane by giving them back a precious hour every day.”

Girl About’s new website has also launched and the brand still needs UK ambassadors to represent their local patches.
