Rain can’t dampen spirits at Hebden Bridge Food Festival

Hundreds of people turned out to sample delights from around the world as part of the Hebden Bridge Food and Drink Festival.

The event was held at Lees Yard and Bridge Gate from 10am to 7pm on Saturday and on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

There were a host of fantastic treats on offer with authentic Spanish paella cooking up next to traditional Mexican street food and a Turkish barbecue.

It’s not all about travelling the world though as local rare breed pork was on offer as well as a host of locally made cheese, jams and chutneys.

Amy Leader, of the organising team, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for people to be in Hebden Bridge, experiencing the tastes of the world.

“The food was from all over the world, but predominantly the businesses are from local areas, from the Calder Valley, Calderdale, or Yorkshire.”
