Roadshow to come to Harrogate to show how ‘exporting is great’

The Exporting is GREAT truck will be at the Pavilions of Harrogate from 8am to 4pm, and will present two events. Not Difficult, Just Different will feature presentations from three successful local exporters – Harrogate Water Brands, documobi and Northern Lights – as well a chance to network.

In the afternoon, the Export Opportunities Clinic will showcase live export opportunities for local businesses and companies will be able to have one-to-one sessions with international trade advisers to assess the best ways to win the opportunity and build it into a sustainable business.

Exporting is GREAT – part of the GREAT campaign – is the Government’s most ambitious export campaign to date. For the first time, it will present real-time export opportunities across media outlets and digital channels to businesses – of all sizes, in all sectors and regions of the UK – that they can apply for immediately.

The platform will go live with business opportunities, which will be available at www.exportingisgreat.gov.uk. Around 1,000 more will come online each month.

Spearheaded by UKTI, it is intended that Exporting is GREAT will provide advice and expertise to support businesses along their ‘exporting journey’, from initial interest to selling in-market.

Businesses will also benefit from strong commercial partnerships, increasing the supply of trade opportunities, providing offers and discounted services to SMEs.

In Yorkshire and the Humber, a wide range of UKTI’s partners including local enterprise partnerships, chambers of commerce and other organisations are also providing support.

Mark Robson, UKTI regional director for Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “As the world becomes ever more globalised and digital, the potential for businesses of all sizes to reach out to new customers and lucrative new markets beyond the UK has never been greater.

“UKTI will continue to work with customers across Yorkshire, including through Exporting is GREAT, to realise this potential.”
