Albert was at the Kings Road shop – along with corporate fundraising manager Chris Hirst – to accept a £500 cheque for the Fishermen’s Mission, donated from the sales of Ramus’ cookbook, Forty.

Jonathan Batchelor, managing director of Ramus, said: “We pride ourselves on providing the best possible quality and variety of seafood to our customers, and we couldn’t do this without the dedication and hard work of our fishermen. We’re extremely pleased to be able to support the Fishermen’s Mission in their work.”

The Fishermen’s Mission was established in 1881 and is the only national charity that delivers emergency response and welfare help to active and retired fishermen and their families.

Mr Hirst said he was “delighted” at the donation. “The charity receives no government support so is dependent on the generosity of individuals and the support of companies like Ramus Seafood Emporium,” he said.

Ramus will also be supporting Fish Friday, the annual charity day for the Fishermen’s Mission, on June 19.
