The heat wave is here...

Apparently the heat wave is officially on and Calderdale is living up to the predictions with a scorcher of a day in store.

Mid-morning will reach 19 degrees c at around 10am, steadily rising to highs of 23 degrees c from around 1pm today.

The school holidays means less traffic on the roads, however, traffic is starting to build in Northowram, on Bradford Road, due to broken traffic lights.

Delays are expected for drivers due to ongoing gas works at the junction of Parkinson Lane and King Cross Road, Halifax.

There are no reported problems on the buses or trains.
