This means there will be a minimum of four new heating engineer roles created and at least one office administrative role.

The work comes as part of the Government’s initiative to reduce the carbon footprint and energy bills of homeowners across the country in most need of financial support.

The Energy Company Obligation, or ECO, is a government energy efficiency scheme to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. Energy companies have been funding the installation of energy efficient heating measures to homes across the country. Those least able to afford such measures, such as those on specific benefits, are granted the funding.

Since 2013, Eclipse Energy have been installing free boilers as part of the ECO scheme, installing thousands of boilers across West Yorkshire and beyond.

Certain homeowners in Calderdale will now be able to access funding for loft insulation, electric storage heaters and off gas boilers. Properties with no fixed heating are able to find funding for new heating measures by Eclipse as the scheme expands.

Mark Bannister, director of Eclipse Energy, said “This is a great move forward towards a warmer, greener Calderdale and we are happy to be a part of it. Being able to provide funding support and installations to the households most in need is a step in the right direction to reducing fuel poverty and lowering the carbon emissions of Calderdale and West Yorkshire as a whole.

“These extra services, combined with our large number of commercial contracts for boiler repairs and installations, will help in our continued growth plans. We advise anyone looking for funding and heating measures to get in touch this winter to avoid the wait.”

The new jobs are expected to be filled over the next three months, with the potential for further jobs to be created as the project grows.
