The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District branch are excited to be back in Manor Heath Park, Halifax on Sunday 7th from 11.00am-5pm, for their annual 21-class fun dog show – K9 Party In The Park 2024!

The event, which has been running for nearly 25 years and organised by the self-funded local RSPCA branch, will be extra special for 2024 as they also celebrate 200 years of the national RSPCA!

Fay Gibbons, Marketing & Communications Officer says “There’s no denying that K9 Party in the Park is the place to be for families and the dog-loving community, but we’re always touched by how many people and pooches join us at our K9 Party each year! 2024 is set to be extra special as we also celebrate the National RSPCA’s bicentennial year – that’s 200 years of making the world a better and kinder place for animals, which is surely worth celebrating!

Fay continues: “ Each year we aim to make the K9 Party bigger, better and as fun-packed as possible! 2024 will see new event additions such as: a doggy ball pool with spectator area, brand new traders, the option to pre-pay and register for the dog show online via our website to speed up our queues and lots of other little surprises on the day too! So make sure you keep the date free and join us from an earlier time of 11am at Manor Heath Park, Halifax on Sunday July 7.”

The Animal Charity hopes to raise vital funds for their local RSPCA Animal Rehoming Centre on Wade Street, Halifax. The Centre rehomes up to 400 local animals every year and is a self-funding branch of the RSPCA, covering Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford.

K9 Party In The Park 2024 promises fun for all the family and of course – the dog! Featuring local trade stalls, games, rides, have-a-go agility (hosted by Springers Agility), NEW doggy ball pool area, music, food, drink and of course the main event – a 21 class fun dog show, where dogs and their owners can take part and hopefully take home an official RSPCA rosette, with brand new rosette designs for 2024!

The event is free to attend but donations are kindly received, and party-goers will receive a free goodie bag on the day – so get down quickly to avoid missing out! The dog show can be entered from 11.00am and is just £2.00 per class. ‘Eyes That Melt Your Heart’, ‘Best Rescue’ and ‘Most Bonkers’ are just a few examples of some of the classes that will be running on the day!

The charity encourages those entering the dog show to pre-register via their website to help keep queuing to a minimum, but you can also sign up on the day if this is preferred. You’ll be able to pay by both cash and card at the dog registration stand this year and anyone who would like to get their paws on a K9 Party Raffle ticket can do so on the charity’s website now - or pick one up on the day too.
