Overgate Hospice struts to success with its annual Winter Fashion Show — raising over £13,000!
Overgate Hospice stole the spotlight at this year’s Winter Fashion Show, held last Thursday at The Venue in Barkisland. The evening raised over £13,000, all in support of people living with life-limiting illnesses that are cared for by the Hospice.
The runway was filled with energy and excitement as an array of amazing volunteers, staff, and supporters took to the catwalk, showcasing eye-catching outfits handpicked from Overgate’s 17 charity shops — proving that preloved fashion is not just sustainable, but seriously stylish!
The event was hosted by Overgate’s Director of Income Generation, Laura Golding, alongside Senior Communications and Marketing Officer, Claire Howard, quickly becoming one of the Hospice’s most talked-about highlights of the year.
On the night, around 300 supporters came together to explore a fantastic range of stalls run by dedicated fundraisers, volunteers, and staff — each showcasing unique preloved gems and one-of-a-kind finds from Overgate’s diverse charity shops. Their enthusiasm and commitment created a wonderful atmosphere, perfectly capturing the spirit of community that makes events like this so special.
Sharon Quinn Deputy Head of Retail shared, “This show brought our community together in the most fabulous way while celebrating the magic of sustainable, preloved fashion. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped raise essential funds for the Hospice — you all looked incredible!”
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended and supported the event, the funds raised will help Overgate Hospice continue delivering expert, compassionate care to people across Calderdale.
These contributions make a lasting difference, ensuring patients receive care with dignity and comfort, whether in the Inpatient Unit, at the Day Hospice, or out in the community all while their loved ones are supported and reassured through some of life’s most challenging moments.
