Another record year for Calder High

Staff and students at Calder High are delighted with their A Level results, which were released today.

The school has continued their year on year trend of improvement, with record numbers of students achieving the top A* and A grades.

More than 95 per cent of students will move on to university with more pupils than ever securing the grades for their first choice university.

Anthony Guise, headteacher, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and we are very proud to see so many students reaping the rewards of their hard work and commitment.”

High achievers include Jessica Buckley and Jessica Murphy who achieved straight A grades and A*. They are going to study pharmacy at the University of Birmingham and geography at the University of Durham respectively. Hamza Aqeel also achieved a Distinction*, two Distinctions and will be reading Law.

Mr Guise added: “We wish all our Calder VI student success in their future studies and careers and are looking forward to welcoming record numbers into Calder VI in September as we prepare them for the next stage of their lives.”
