Calderdale College opens virtual doors for students

Calderdale College is opening its doors virtually with its Hello College events online this year to give prospective students a flavour of life on campus.

VISIT ONLINE: Taking place over three days – June 29 to July 1, 11am to 4pm – visitors will be invited to take a look around and chat live to tutors, who will be at hand to answer questions, at www.calderdale.ac.uk/hello-college.

REGISTER: Students can register their interest and will to be emailed links to videos, details of Hello College and to a Live Microsoft Teams session, if that applies to your area of interest. See www.calderdale.ac.uk/hello-college.

Hello College aims to give students an idea of what to expect when they start at Calderdale College, including information of what they are likely to study, who their tutors are, what other students think of the courses, and what to expect on an average day.

They will also be given the chance to ask any questions directly to their tutor, during a live session on Microsoft Teams.

Events will be split by course area over three days:

Science and Health Industries sessions – Monday, June 29, 11am-4pm

Creative, Digital and Enterprise courses - Tuesday, June 30, 11am-4pm

Music and Performing ArtsMusic and Performing Arts
Music and Performing Arts

Construction and Technology courses - Wednesday, July 1, 11am-4pm

All the content has been created specifically for Hello College by tutors, to help students with their post-16 study decisions. Student support services will also be available throughout the event via a live chat feature on the Hello College web page.

Students who have already applied and accepted their offer will have received a VIP email invite. If this is you - keep an eye on your inbox for event links and joining instructions.

You will also be given a time slot for your chosen subject(s) closer to the event date.

If you haven’t yet applied for a course at Calderdale College, it’s not too late. You can register your interest for the Hello College event on their website, to find out more about the College and explore your options for September.

Whether you are due to start College in September, you haven’t yet made up your mind, or you’re a year 10 student that is ahead of the game in exploring your options, the event will give you everything you need to make your decision.

The virtual Hello College day has been designed to help you on your way to becoming a Calderdale College student.

While the Hello College events on June 29, 30 and July 1 are directed at Further Education students, Calderdale College is also hosting separate open events for both Higher Education and Apprenticeship courses.

The University Centre Calderdale College open event will be on Thursday, July 2, 11am-4pm, and the Apprenticeship event will be on Wednesday, July 8, 11am-1pm.
