Josh Fenton-Glynn, who took the constituency for Labour from the Conservatives in July, has written to the new Secretary of State for Education Bridget Phillipson checking the funding is safe.
"Many of our schools have needed to be rebuilt for over a decade and only at tail end of the last government did they start to act,” he said.

In his letter, he tells the secretary of state: “I have spoken to a number of the local head teachers and they all wish to underline the importance of a good learning environment to support the already excellent and hard working staff teams.
"I have also been asked to extend an invite from some of our high schools so they can show you first hand the work that needs doing and I’d very much like to welcome you to Calder Valley for this visit.”
The schools which have been allocated rebuilding cash are:
Central Street Infant and Nursery School in Hebden Bridge
Cross Lane Primary and Nursery School in Elland
Riverside Junior School in Hebden Bridge

The Brooksbank School in Elland
