The expanded Mill Studios campus now brings together Calderdale College’s creative and digital curriculum, including Games Design, Esports and a T Level in Creative Media, Broadcasting & Production.
The college says by moving their Art & Design students to Dean Clough will give them “greater access to professionals, inspiring surroundings and valuable real-world opportunities”.
Based on the third floor of D Mill, Mill Studios features a state-of-the-art esports gaming space, high-spec media production and editing suites, and a games design classroom.
The remainder of the centre has now been fully renovated and modernised to include two purpose-built Art & Design studios and a makers’ space.
David Malone, principal and chief executive of Calderdale College, said: “Dean Clough gives students a professional environment that is bigger than a college campus, allowing learning to happen beside culture, enterprise, hospitality, galleries and real working life.
“By bringing our Art & Design courses together with other creative courses, we’re generating even more opportunities for students to develop their skills, collaborate across disciplines and build the industry connections that will support them when they leave college.”
