Crossley Heath School closed to Year 11 pupils after positive COVID test

Crossley Heath School in Halifax has been closed to Year 11 pupils after a positive COVID-19 test result.

Calderdale Council’s Consultant in Public Health, Ben Leaman, said: “Following confirmation of a positive COVID test result, The Crossley Heath School is currently closed for Year 11 pupils, in line with the current Government guidance.

Parents have been updated on the situation and the school has provided guidance to pupils to enable them to continue their education remotely.

“I understand that this may be difficult for the children and their families, but the safety of pupils, teaching and support staff is our priority.

“We have been working with the school and Public Health England to make sure that any potential infection is contained. 

“As the virus is still within our community we should all continue to maintain good hygiene by washing our hands with soap and water often, for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching our face and follow the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ guidance to help keep ourselves and others safe.”
