“The look on the children’s faces as they entered the unit after the transformation was of sheer amazement and they were so proud of what we had achieved.

“They have responded to the change and are looking after and taking ownership of their environment. We are looking forward to continuing our learning journey together over the next term.”

Businesses have also helped with the renovation of the school area with Brighouse Driveways donating gravel and Northern Joinery donating bark chippings.

Teaching assistant Mrs Rhodes said: “It’s lovely to work in an environment that opens up opportunities for children to develop in all areas of the early years curriculum.

Teaching assistant Mrs Barnfather added: “It was lovely to see the parents’ faces and to hear the wonderful comments during our grand opening.

“The children enjoyed showing their families, governors and other special visitors around the unit.”

The school is also offering parents and their children who are due to start school in September 2015 or 2016 a chance to have a look around the unit.
