Hide AdPolice arrived at the school at approximately 12:10 and temporarily cordoned off part of Gibbet Street, between the West View Avenue and West View Drive junctions. The road is no longer cordoned off.
Headteacher Matt Perry said: "We are aware of concerns about an incident which took place outside the academy (on Thursday).
"It is our responsibility to ensure that the academy is made a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Where we have concerns we undertake a thorough investigation and follow our formal disciplinary procedures where appropriate. Unfortunately, this can result in a staff member being asked to leave the school. Such decisions are not taken lightly.
"We would like to extend our thanks to parents, staff and our local community for their continuing unfailing support for the excellent work which goes on at The Halifax Academy, which is proud to be one of the best schools in Calderdale and in the top 15% nationwide."

A family friend of Mr Yasar, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "Yasar is a really good man and the fact that so many of his students are protesting is proof. Yasar is all about peace and love - he means so much to the children that they've all come out together. His suspension is having a big impact on the Halifax community, children and adults alike."
West View Avenue residents watched the protest and voiced their concerns.
One resident said: "I'm with the children."
Another commented: "I'm worried about the mess that's been caused, who is going to clean up the eggs?"
